In the municipality of Cantallops, in Alt Empordà, the aroma of the forest is everywhere; to be exact, the aroma of cork oaks, which are very prominent in this part of the Albera massif, declared a Natural Area of National Interest.

The layout of the town is typical of the area, with buildings clustered around a small church and the remains of a mediaeval castle. And, as in other places in Alt Empordà, here you can also visit prehistoric remains, in this case the dolmens of Mas Baleta.
